I'm not sure why this place has 5 stars. I went in knowing I had a misfire on cylinder 3 and requested a tune-up involving coil, and spark plug change. I received a notification via text message that the diagnosis for a charge. I accepted this, even though I already knew it was a cylinder 3 misfire. Via a text and a link, they confirmed the cylinder 3 misfire and suggested swapping coil 3 for coil 4 and replacing all spark plugs for $900. This seemed like a good idea to minimize costs, as it involved replacing only one coil with minimal labor fees. The cover wouldn't need to be removed again since the cylinder 4 coil can be swapped without removing the cover. However, this approach left me with potentially one new coil and three old coils that could eventually fail, likely bringing me back to the shop. Alternatively, if this didn't work, I'd end up with new spark plugs, one new coil, three old coils, and still have the original issue unresolved. At this point, I expected a call to discuss the options, but they just pushed the notification with brief notes and their suggested course of action without much opportunity for discussion. It would have been much cheaper to get a tune-up changing spark plugs and coils somewhere else. I decided not to proceed and took the diagnostics hit, but it was better to stop the potential for excessive costs.

It looks like the course of action was prudent, to save you money and not try to just sell you parts you may not need. And, we always verify the diagnosis to make sure we are making the correct repairs, vs blindly relying on scan codes. However, we clearly dropped the ball on our communication with you. Text messages and technology are meant to be an add-on, not a replacement for the professional and personal advice of our team. We missed the mark on that and I sincerely apologize.
