Gaithersburg and Libertytown Auto Repair

I think my reviews are all fair and balanced so let me start with what I think was good about the service I received. And why I only gave them one star as my review. 2006 BMW 330Ci Convertible for a failed VEAP inspection for the thermostat. The car has 38K miles (not a typo), and is immaculate, inside and out. - They were very responsive and did an excellent job communicating what they found during their inspection. - The work the recommended seemed appropriate. Unlike what I feel the car dealers do. Every time I bring it to BMW of Rockville it seems like they find $10K worth of things they think needs fixing. The blue book on this car is only about $5000! - They were upfront about it taking a few days because of the sourcing of the part. In the end it took them about 8 days to fix the car. I don't know how long it took to get the part, and if it was on day 7, then ok fair enough. But to keep a car for 8 days is a long time to be without your car if it's your primary vehicle. This is not mine luckily for me. - I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they fixed and did all the work they charged me for and did a good job. No real way to tell to be honest. If it passes the VEAP then the repair part of the work was done as it should have. Oil changes, brake line replacements, etc... who knows. - Their pricing seemed reasonable compared to the dealer's typical costs. I don't know that I think it was a lot less - I paid a couple hundred for an oil change and filter here, and BMW usually charges about the same. Sometimes less with coupons. So why only one star? - My car is COMPLETELY COVERED in bird shit and is filthy. It didn't show up this way, and should not have come back to me that way. This is so totally unacceptable to me that despite what I believe was good service from them, I don't think I could ever bring my cars back to them, or recommend them to anyone else. My guess is it's been parked outside in the hot sun with shit all over the paint for days. Terrible.

This is by far the most professional, cleanest, friendliest, hospitable, efficient mechanic I've ever been to. The reception area was very clean, professional, welcoming, more like an executive office than a mechanic. The bathroom was clean. They had hot and cold beverages and snacks available, an internet cafe, and a cozy waiting area. The office assistance greeted me, was super friendly, engaged in conversation, very professional, knowledgeable, kind. He even went and asked the mechanic about who sang a song that was playing because I asked if he knew. Above and beyond. They took my car in right away (lots of places I have to wait even when I have an appointment), and finished servicing my car quickly, but not too quickly. :) Definitely recommend! I came here through Groupon and I'm grateful they are on my radar now!

They did an amazing job. Very nice people from when i called to book an appointment, will definitely come back :)
